Ambassador Jacqueline Pires submits letters of credential to Joachim Gauck 12 November 2015
Cape Verdean diplomat Jacqueline Pires Ferreira has presented the letters of credential accrediting her as Cape Verde’s ambassador to Germany to German President Joachim Gauck in Berlin.
During the event, the German president highlighted the friendly political and cooperative relations that have always existed between Cape Verde and Germany, adding that Cape Verde is a country that serves as “an example” in Africa in political, social and economic terms.
The ambassador, for her part, transmitted Cape Verdean President Jorge Carlos Fonseca’s cordial greetings to Gauck and thanked him for the contribution Germany has made to Cape Verde’s development over the forty years of the latter’s existence as an independent country.
Jacqueline Pires further expressed the Cape Verdean government’s desire to continue to enhance the ties of friendship and solidarity between the two countries and expand bilateral cooperation, both on the political and economic level, increasing Cape Verde’s visibility in Africa and the presence of German business operators in Cape Verde.
